Fair, September 19-21, 2013
Uprising Art will take part in the 2nd edition of Art O’clock, a contemporary art fair, next September, at the CNIT at the Défense, in Paris.
After a successful launch at the FIAC in 2012, with a round table organized at the Grand Palais, gathering experts and artists, Uprising Gallery presents for the first time a selection of Caribbean artists in a vantage space of 36m2. Established artists and young talents originating particularly from Cuba, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and engaging in international creation. A first in Paris, but which follows the well-oiled dynamics of the American market, where artists of the Caribbean are highly sought-after by collectors and institutions.
The presentation of Uprising will be put under the spotlight within a dedicated space, the focus of the fair. As Cyril Schlesser, director of the fair, underlined in an interview for AMA, Art Media Agency, “a notable presence of this year’s fair will be a very beautiful space putting to the fore the work of the Cuban René Peña », along with Édouard Duval-Carrié, Luz Severino, Adrian Fernández Milanes, Niels Reyes, and other talented artists!
